The CountryWorks Gallery, situated in the square of the delightful old town of Montgomery, has specialised for the last eleven years in showing the work of contemporary British artists and craftsmen (some from Mid Wales). With a full diary of exhibitions by a number of fine artists, sculptors, ceramists and designers of jewellery and textiles, the gallery has developed a reputation for excellence and won a number of national awards. The owners, Richard and Clare Halstead, started their business in a converted barn in Sawmills (a small hamlet of few miles outside Montgomery) in 1987, moving to their present address in a listed 17th town house in Montgomery in 1991.

Alongside the work in the exhibitions, Clare and Richard have a Craft Shop which sells work by new and established designer/makers, including textiles and knitwear from Ireland and art cards from Britain, Europe and the United States. CountryWorks is THE place to go in Montgomery for special and unique gifts.
