In some places they have too many cars, in other places they have too many shoe shops but in Montgomery perhaps we have too much history! In Montgomery everyone is an archeologist or historian, we have history like teenagers have spots. Below is a list of links to Jeffrey L. Thomas's castles web site which I thoroughly recommend, it starts with the castles closest to Montgomery and works outward. Just the thing for a wet Sunday afternoon or convalescing after flu or a hangover. I've put a limit of about 25 miles from Montgomery on the list, if you have plenty of time then maybe you would like to try visiting them all. The ones I've visited get a star rating out of four and those I've never seen get a question mark (NB. My *s are different to Jeff's *s),
I've also added a P for picnics, a V for views, WW for wet weather visit , M for museum and finally E for easy access.
